Wabash Pass and the Indiana Department of Transportation are cracking down on motorists who use the bridge without a toll payment account, or who have an unfunded account with existing toll violations.
The Wabash Memorial Toll Bridge requires tolls to be prepaid. Collected tolls are utilized for continued bridge maintenance and eventual bridge replacement.
It is a violation of state law to cross a toll bridge without paying tolls. Toll violators will receive a Violation Notice letter. Violators also may face legal remedies or other action.
Motorists who use the Wabash Memorial Toll Bridge must use Wabash Pass, an electronic system that reads a vehicle transponder or tag and automatically deducts the crossing toll from the motorist’s account. Motorists that choose not to install a transponder shall be subject to higher costs which may include – but are not limited to – plate lookup fees, statement, and mailing fees.
